Three Countries Congresses
The Association for Law & Society is part of the international law and society network. It is a loose network of scientists from Switzerland, Austria and Germany who feel connected to interdisciplinary legal research and who would like to promote this by organizing international conferences and scientific projects.
The network includes scholars from scientific associations and institutions from the three countries who conduct interdisciplinary research on law. It was founded after the World Congress of the Law and Society Association 2007 in Berlin whose subject was „Law and Society in the 21st Century“. Three Countries Congresses have taken place regularly since then:
- 4.-6. June 2008, Lucern: „The Impact of Law“
- 1.-3. September 2011, Vienna: „The Fight for Justice“
- 9.-11. September 2015, Berlin: „The Promises of Law“
- 13.-15. September 2018, Basel: „The Abolition of Law?“
